Yesterday accompanied S for the SIA Air Stewardess Interview at Suntec.
It has been her dream to be in that uniform, while for me, obviously just went for fun.
I was in my pink dress with black slippers.
When we reached the hall at around 1.30pm, there were about hundred over people waiting.
Seriously I don't understand why people like this job so much.
It is just waiter and waitress, flying and serving in the air.
Have they not heard of the dark side about SIA, about being part of the cabin crew?
Well, I didn't complain much, but joined the queue as soon as possible.
Then the staff divided us into groups.
Our group number is 124.
It means, there were about 1000 over people before us?
Oh my tien, this is crazy!
Well, we were then brought into this room, watching some related videos.
Then not long later, we were asked to sit outside an interviewing room.
When our number was called, the girls sashayed into the room, hoping to catch the two interviewers' attention.
For me, what can I do with my pair of slippers?
In the room, we were asked to do the interview-never-do-without: self-introduction.
And also, we were to share one interesting fact that others might not know!
I was the third and the two guys (the only two guys) before me didn't really do well.
So when it was my turn, I said normally and told them that I came just to accompany my friend and I didn't really dream to be in this line.
They knew that I was in NTU, still schooling.
After the interview, S told me that I shouldn't have told them that as they will never consider me.
Well, regretted a little however I guess it was OK?
I went for fun only, that's the fact!
Then when the result was out, I was the first name to be called.
Rather surprised actually especially after what the experienced S had told me.
Then I felt sorry and guilty for S, it has been her dream.
I accompanied her, in the end I got in but she's out!
And now, she has to give it up.
She said she will not try again, but wants to settle down already.
One thing happened and that was quite embarrassing, I was asked to reach out to this red line sticked onto the wall, to confirm my height.
I was brought to the height measuring area, it was 1.6m.
Those 1.6m and below needed that I guess.
So in my group, 4 out of 12 were selected.
V and I were asked to do that while D and the other girl obviously tall enough to skip that step.
It was rather du lian, and for once, I hope to have grown 5cm taller.
Then next I went for other interviews and though the judges know that I will only graduate in 2013 but they still chose me.
It was only towards the end then the lady asked:"Oh you are still schooling? So if we sign contract with you will you give up your studies?"
Obviously my answer is a firm NO!
Then the lady advised me to withdraw now and try again after i graduate 2 years later.
She told me not to waste my time trying because the company will not consider any part timer.
LOLX.
Then I took my leave and waited for boyfriend then went to shop for one whole afternoon!
Bought so many things I like!
One pair of heels, one pair of slippers, 3 shirts and one gift (:
